Dawn Anita’s “The Dawn of Old Country” Album Cover Shoot

Dawn Plumlee

Over the summer I had the pleasure of photographing Dawn Anita, a very talented singer/songwriter, musician, artist from Velma Elma, Oklahoma. She had been working on her newest, classic country album, “The Dawn of Old Country” and needed some images to use for cover art and promotional purposes.

What I like so much about artist/album shoots is not only the diversity of the shoot itself but also color treatments I get to play with, to help the client find a direction or look they may want to use. You’ll see several black and white treatments, including a light sepia, an early 1930’s model, and a fairly modern black and white. You’ll also see some artificial sunhaze, light flair, and subtle textures.

If you like good, classic country music, please check out her new album, “The Dawn of Old Country” and buy yourself a copy at CD Baby. To check out all of her past albums, check out her Artist Page.

Here are a few of our favorite pictures and various color treatments from our shoot.
